Foreigner Supervision must Be More Tightened

City Secretary, Saefullah instructs Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Dept. to intensify supervision towards foreigner. In the case, the dept. could coordinate with Jakarta National and Political Unity Agency (Bakesbangpol) and Immigration Office. 

He disclosed, the existence of the foreigner in Jakarta must be clear in terms of purpose and so forth. It is important to maintain the sovereignty of the state.

"Our data is also recorded if we go to the foreign country, like status, tourist, job, department duty trip or business. So those who visit Indonesia must also be the same," he expressed, at City Hall, Tuesday (8/1).

According to him, foreign data collection is very important which aims to avoid manipulation of arrival destinations. Moreover, a while ago, dozens of foreigners from China were arrested by police for committing criminal acts of cyber.

"If they just visit Jakarta for working, they have to pay tax. So I'll check it along with Population Dept. to make it tighter," he asserted.
